Yes, this can be done prior to the patient arriving in optical. The only thing that will need to be added will be the frame questions if they are getting frames.  In fact, many of the MAX superusers will build a solution before the patient arrives (usually with their previous lens type), record the Order # and then when the patient arrives in Optical, staff with Recall that Order #, complete the frame information and share the results with the patient in a few seconds.
